Telangana horror: Man survives fall, wife kills him by injecting toilet cleaner through cannula

HYDERABAD: A woman in Telangana's Nizamabad district allegedly killed her husband by injecting toilet cleaner through a cannula while he was undergoing treatment, police said on Monday.The case came to light after the deceased man's mother lodged a complaint on July 1, stating that she learned about the death of her son, Prasanth (35), who worked in a Gulf country, on June 30, according to news agency PTI.According to the complaint, she was unaware that her son had returned home and had no information about the circumstances leading to his death. Suspecting foul play, she expressed doubts about the role of her daughter-in-law, Sandhya.Police said their investigation, supported by technical evidence, revealed that Sandhya (32) was allegedly involved in an illicit relationship with Anil (35)."As per technical evidence and the facts that emerged during police investigation, Sandhya (32) had an illicit affair with one Anil (35)."Investigators alleged that Sandhya and Anil considered Prasanth an obstacle to their relationship and conspired to eliminate him.

"Sandhya and Anil had planned to eliminate Prasanth as they thought he was an obstacle to their affair," a police release said.According to police, the duo enlisted the help of Venkata Sai to carry out the plan."As per a conspiracy made by them, they sought the help of one Venkata Sai to implement their plans to kill Prasanth."Police alleged that on June 29, Sai visited Prasanth's residence, made him consume large quantities of alcohol, and later took him to the terrace of the building."According to their plan, Sai went to the residence of Prasanth on June 29 and made him consume a lot of liquor. Then, he took Prasanth to the terrace of the building and pushed him as per the instructions of Sandhya over the phone," the release said.According to news agency PTI, Prasanth sustained serious injuries in the fall but survived. Police said Sandhya and Sai initially took him to a government hospital for treatment, later shifted him to a private hospital, and subsequently brought him back home.Investigators further alleged that, after being encouraged by Anil, Sandhya injected toilet cleaner and an anaesthesia medicine into Prasanth through a cannula."After being encouraged by Anil, Sandhya injected a toilet cleaner and an anaesthesia medicine to Prasanth through a cannula. Sandhya also pushed Prasanth down from the cot, which led to his death," the release said.Police said all three accused voluntarily confessed to their roles during the investigation. They have been arrested and produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
