The Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association (JUDA) has raised concerns over the continued delay in the release of arrears, payable to junior doctors across the State, stating that the prolonged wait has caused significant financial hardship and uncertainty among medical professionals.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, JUDA said that the arrears from January to June 2025 remain pending despite the relevant bills having been duly submitted and cleared at the departmental level after completion of procedural formalities.
The association noted that the delay in releasing their rightful dues has adversely affected their financial stability, morale and overall well-being. Multiple representations and follow-ups have been made since June 2025, but no action has been taken so far, they added.
The association highlighted that PG doctors from the 2021 batch who have completed their MD and are currently serving as Senior Residents are at risk of not receiving their legitimate arrears. It further pointed out that the PG doctors from the 2022 batch who have recently completed their MD and entered Senior Residency may also be deprived of their arrears if the delay persists.
Appealing to the State government, the association urged immediate approval of the pending bills and the release of all arrears without further delay. JUDA warned that if the issue remains unresolved despite repeated representations, it would be compelled to take an appropriate course of action in the interest of junior doctors.
