Telangana should emerge as a role model for other States in promoting innovative and future-ready higher education programmes, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said on Friday, while interacting with Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) Chairman V. Balakista Reddy.
He advised the Council to ensure effective implementation of the new courses and to take the initiative to the next level from the academic year 2026-27 by establishing stronger linkages with industry, research institutions, and other stakeholders.
Mr. Reddy was apprising Mr. Shukla on courses such as Aerospace, Defence, Maritime Studies, FinTech, Climate Governance, Life Sciences and Food Technology. He explained that the programmes were developed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, industry requirements, and global best practices.
As per a release, he appreciated the efforts of TGCHE in introducing futuristic and employment-oriented programmes and observed that the initiatives would significantly contribute to developing a skilled workforce.
