Ten injured in scuffle broke out between two families in Rajam

A scuffle broke out between two families over alleged dumping of sand in an SC colony of Rajam Mandal in Vizianagaram district on Saturday night, resulting in injuries to as many as ten persons.

According to the Rajam police, one family accused the other of dumping the sand, bought for constructing a house, on the middle of the street and objected it, stating that they are blocking the road. This led to a heated argument between the families further escalated into a full-blown street fight, the police said, adding that both families used sticks and sharp objects during the fight.

Upon arriving at the spot, the police officials rushed the injured persons to a government hospital in Rajam. Police personnel were deployed in the village to maintain peace.
