Tension prevailed in the Old City area of Hyderabad after unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked the Sri Dwimukhi Hanuman Mandir in Barkas under Chandrayangutta limits.
According to reports, unknown persons entered the temple premises during the night hours and vandalised the idol of Lord Hanuman.
The desecration of the temple idol triggered concern among local devotees. Temple authorities and residents noticed the damage in the morning and immediately alerted the police.
Police officials rushed to the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
