Tenure of sahayak police personnel to be extended by another year, says state govt

Ranchi: The state information and public relation department said chief minister Hemant Soren has ordered the extension of sahayak police personnel’s contract by one more year. The home , prison and disaster management department will now send a proposal to the state cabinet for approval in this regard.

Around 2,500 sahayak policemen were appointed on contract basis in 12 extremist-affected districts in 2017. The state govt extended their contract several times since then. Currently, around 1,900 sahayak police, whose annual contact expired in August-end, are awaiting an extension.
