One unidentified terrorist, who was trying to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir, was killed close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri’s Nowshera in the Jammu division on Tuesday (March 10, 2026).

According to the Army, movement of two terrorists was observed in Jhangar area, Nowshera, along the LoC at around 3 p.m. following “credible intelligence inputs”.

“Responding with swift and calibrated combat action, the alert troops of the Army’s White Knight Corps engaged swiftly and successfully, foiling the infiltration attempt. In the ensuing engagement, one Pakistan-sponsored terrorist was eliminated, effectively denying any breach of the LoC,” the Army said.

The Army suspected the presence of another terrorist in the area. “Troops have been reoriented to search for the second terrorist and to ensure relentless domination of the area, supported by integrated ground and aerial surveillance,” the Army said. A robust operational posture and heightened alert continue across in the sector, it added.

Meanwhile, the White Knight Corps and all ranks paid solemn homage to Sepoy Akshit Sharma of 9 Punjab who made the supreme sacrifice on Tuesday during a training exercise in Jammu’s Rajouri district. “In this hour of profound grief, the White Knight Corps stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and prays for strength and courage to the loved ones of the brave heart,” the Army said.
