The Warangal Warriors, one of the eight founding franchises of the TG20 Cricket League, recently unveiled their grassroots sports development roadmap at an event in Warangal. The league is an initiative of the Hyderabad Cricket Association aimed at strengthening cricket in Telangana.
Addressing the gathering virtually, team India pacer Mohammed Siraj, expressed confidence that several talented players from Warangal would gain recognition and “emerge as future stars” through the league.
Meanwhile, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy attended the programme along with the franchise’s co-owners Varun Jupally, Phani Chitneni and Dheeraj Induru.
Co-owner Phani Chitneni marked a historic moment for Warangal, giving young players a professional platform to display their skills and gain wider recognition. “For the first time, Warangal has a professional sports franchise of its own. This milestone will help position the city as an emerging sporting destination,” he added.
