Tollywood star Naga Chaitanya's romance drama 'Thandel', co-starring Sai Pallavi, celebrated its first anniversary. The film, released on February 7, 2025, achieved blockbuster status, grossing over Rs 88.89 crore worldwide. Both the actor and the makers expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and success of the true-story-based film, now available on Netflix.
Tollywood actor Naga Chaitanya was last seen in the romance drama ‘Thandel’ starring alongside Sai Pallavi in the lead. Released last year on February 7, 2025, the film went on to become a huge success. Today, as it completes a year, the actor thanked everyone who supported the film.Taking of his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Naga Chaitanya shared the poster of their milestone and wrote, “1 year for #Thandel thank you all for making this special , sending out love to the entire team :).“

Bunny Vas calls it a promised blockbuster

‘Thandel’ was directed by Chandoo Mondeti and starred Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi. The film was based on a true story. Indian fishermen from Andhra Pradesh were caught by Pakistan authorities and were kept in jail for 22 years.As per trade analyst Sacnilk report, it made over Rs 88.89 crore worldwide. After its successful theatrical run, the movie is now streaming on OTT giant Netflix.
What’s next for Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi
On the current work front, Naga Chaitanya is now working with director Karthik Dandu. It features Meenakshi Chaudhary and ‘Laapataa Ladies’ fame Sparsh Shrivastava in key roles.On the other hand, Sai Pallavi is expected to be next seen in Nitesh Tiwari's directorial epic ‘Ramayana’ as Goddess Sita. She will be starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana.
