THANE: The Crime Branch Unit-4 of Ulhasnagar nabbed a notorious habitual housebreaker involved in multiple daytime burglaries, recovering stolen property worth nearly ₹20 lakh.
A senior police official stated that the action, under the jurisdiction of the Thane Police Commissionerate, pertains to several burglary cases registered in Badlapur and Shivajinagar police stations.A burglary case was filed on July 1, 2025, at Badlapur Police Station. During the investigation, Police Constable Ganesh Gawde from Crime Branch Unit-4 received specific intelligence through technical surveillance and informants that the accused, Roshan Bala Jadhav, was seen roaming near the Ulhas River close to the closed Amardai Company in Ulhasnagar-1.Acting swiftly on this tip-off, a police team apprehended Jadhav, a 34-year-old resident of Hanuman Mandir, Niljegaon, Kalyan Phata, Dombivli (East), District Thane. He was arrested in connection with a case registered under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Badlapur West Police Station. Upon his arrest and interrogation, the police recovered stolen property from him, including gold ornaments weighing 189.17 grams valued at ₹15.13 lakh, silver ornaments worth ₹10,000, two laptops valued at ₹80,000, two mobile phones worth ₹50,000, and cash amounting to ₹3.28 lakh.
The total value of the seized property is estimated to be ₹19.81 lakh.Further investigation revealed that Roshan Bala Jadhav was involved in a total of eight burglary cases across Badlapur East, Badlapur West, and Shivajinagar police stations. With his arrest, the Crime Branch Unit-4 successfully cracked all these cases and recovered a large portion of the stolen goods. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the crime by Jadhav, the police said.
