Mhatre was arrested on Wednesday evening after he surrendered to the police.

The Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) corporator who allegedly assaulted doctors and staff inside a hospital in Maharashtra’s Thane district has been remanded to three-day police custody on Friday.
The incident, involving corporator Ramesh Mhatre, took place at the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC)-run Shastri Nagar Hospital on Monday evening.
Mhatre was arrested on Wednesday evening after he surrendered to the police. The corporator then underwent a medical examination. The same day, three of his associates were also arrested in connection with the incident, taking the total number of arrests in the case to four.
