Director Matt Reeves DROPS major hints; 'We did something that referred to his origins'

The anticipated sequel, ‘The Batman Part II,’ will see more of Bruce Wayne than focus on the stories with masks. Giving the crumbs for the upcoming film, Matt Reeves revealed that it would have a new angle for the antagonist, teasing that the character would be someone that hasn’t been done before.

Matt Reeves reveals the plot of 'The Batman Part II'

During a red carpet interview with Josh Horowitz, the director of ‘The Batman’ opened up about the plot details, where Robert Pattinson would be taking the lead as the titular character. The new film will mainly focus on Bruce Wayne, as the previous film explored the parts of Batman, letting fans know the man behind the mask. “[In] a lot of the other films, which I love, once you get past the origin tale, which we didn’t quite do, but we did something that referred to his origins,” Reeves said, before adding that they never intended to lose Pattinson as the centre of the stories, and they will be focusing on him.

Moreover, Matt reflected that setting a new angle was really necessary before fixing the villain of the story, teasing that something had “never really been done in a movie before,” according to Variety. As for the script, it is locked in a secret pouch with a code on it to avoid any leaks. “[Pattinson] was in New York at the time, and everything is high security,” the writer-director said.
