‘Their Skies Are Defenceless’: Iran Claims Air Dominance Over Israel After Dimona, Arad Strikes

Seyed Majid Moosavi said that Iran had achieved “missile dominance” over Israeli skies following attacks on Arad and Dimona.

Iran has claimed that it has the upper hand in the ongoing war with Israel, saying that Israeli air defences are no longer able to stop its missiles after recent strikes on southern cities of Dimona and Arad.

Iran’s IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Major General Seyed Majid Moosavi said that Iran had achieved “missile dominance" over Israeli skies following attacks on Arad and Dimona. He warned that upcoming waves of strikes would use new tactics and systems that would leave US and Israeli forces “dumbfounded."

“From this moment, I declare the #missile_dominance of Iran’s sons over the skies of the occupied territories. The new tactics and launch systems employed in the upcoming waves will leave the American-Zionist commanders dumbfounded. Tonight, the skies over the south of the occupied territories will remain illuminated for hours," he said in a post on X.

Echoing the claim, Iran Parliament’s Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that Israel’s inability to intercept missiles in the heavily protected Dimona area showed that “its skies are defenceless" and signalled a new phase of the conflict.

“If the Israeli regime fails to intercept the missiles in the highly protected Dimona area, it is operationally a sign of entering a new phase of the battle: ✅ Israel’s skies are defenseless. As a result, it seems the time has come to implement the next pre-designed plans," he said on X.

The remarks came after Iranian missile strikes hit Arad and Dimona, injuring more than 100 people, including children, according to Israeli officials. Residential areas were damaged, and around 150 families were evacuated in Arad.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attacks, calling them a “war crime" and accusing Iran of deliberately targeting civilians. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with local officials and assured support for those affected.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military has launched an investigation into why its air defence systems failed to intercept at least some of the incoming missiles, with reports of multiple failed attempts.
