Candace Owens claims she withheld Charlie Kirk evidence to expose alleged cover-up

Candace Owens said she intentionally delayed releasing evidence related to Charlie Kirk's assassination after a conversation with Baron Coleman. She claimed the move helped identify who would allegedly "lie," "cover up," or provide conflicting accounts before new information became public. Owens named Brian Harpole and Frank Turek while arguing that not everyone at Turning Point USA should be blamed. Her remarks have fueled fresh debate online, though her allegations remain unverified.

Candace Owens has intensified the controversy surrounding the assassination of Charlie Kirk by claiming she deliberately withheld evidence for days instead of releasing it immediately.

According to Owens, the decision was strategic rather than accidental. She said the delay helped expose people she believes misled the public, while also allowing witnesses to speak before previously undisclosed information entered the conversation.

The comments have sparked fresh debate across social media over both her claims and the people she singled out.

Candace Owens explains why she delayed releasing Charlie Kirk evidence

In a newly released video, Owens said the decision to hold back information came after discussions with Baron Coleman.

While she initially wanted to wait longer before making anything public, she said Coleman convinced her that the timing had changed. She explained that the unreleased material could encourage additional witnesses to come forward and help clarify what happened. At the same time, Owens argued that keeping the evidence private gave her an opportunity to observe how different people publicly described the events.

She said:"I spoke with Baron Coleman yesterday evening and he convinced me that some evidence that he knew that I had positively needed to be shared before we went away for two weeks. He gave me his reasons as to why it was so significant and I rebutted about the timing. He obviously knew why we wanted to hold on to it but I ultimately concluded that Baron Coleman was right."

She added, "Now is the time to share it and to allow you guys to contribute information that we have intentionally not released early that we have sat on and it's obvious where we are playing chess here.

There are a lot of heavy players that are involved in Charlie Kirk's assassination and we needed to also just be able to separate who were the good guys and who were the bad guys, right? Just because Brian Harpole tells a lie, just because Frank Turek tells a lie does not mean that every single person at Turning Point USA is implicated.

"She continued, "I needed to fully assess the character of a lot of individuals that were around Charlie, people who I couldn't believe would betray Charlie.

I wanted to see who would lie, who would cover up, who would get behind and host commentators who were friends of Charlie Kirk's as they lied through their teeth to the public, tried to dissuade them from looking at certain evidence, telling them this is not possible, this is not true but most importantly getting people who were intimately involved on that day to tell their stories over and over and over again.

"She further added, "People like Frank Turek, his car ride which is told differently than it is by Brian Harpole, their memory, very short ride, both of them telling stories that are not matching, the shows that they are choosing to go on when they share it, the terms that they are using, conspiracy theorists, demonic.

We needed to see who these people are."Her remarks suggest she views the delay as part of a broader effort to compare public statements with evidence she says had not yet been released.

Charlie Kirk investigation claims trigger new debate online

Owens' latest comments have added another layer to an already divisive public discussion surrounding Charlie Kirk's assassination. By naming Brian Harpole and Frank Turek, while also saying that not everyone connected to Turning Point USA should be viewed the same way, she drew a distinction between individual actions and broader organizational responsibility. The claims have ignited a fiery debate online, with advocates arguing that withholding evidence can help investigators spot inconsistencies in witness statements. However, critics question the appropriateness of withholding potentially significant information outside of an official investigation. As of today, Owens’ claims are her own allegations, and the individuals she named have spoken publicly about different facets of the case separately. The wider probe continues to be a matter of intense public interest, and many questions surrounding the circumstances of Charlie Kirk’s assassination are still under active investigation and public scrutiny.
