The actress talks about dealing with the highs and lows of showbiz
Rachi Sharma, currently seen in the TV show Do Duniya Ek Dil, says five years in the industry have taught her to deal with its biggest reality — uncertainty. “When a show ends, you wonder what’s next.
I’ve gone through that phase, but now I trust that something good will happen. You have to keep going,” she says. Reflecting on her journey, Rachi recalls how her decision to pursue acting came from a long-standing love for the camera. “Since childhood, I was into dance and modelling. When I told my parents I wanted to act, they were concerned about how I would do it, especially since we were based in Indore. But they supported me,” she shares.
One of her earliest memories of Mumbai continues to drive her even today. “I came with my father for my first audition by train.
We didn’t even know where to go. The audition didn’t work out and we were sitting at the station. That’s when I realised this dream is not just mine anymore. My father is sitting there just for me. I promised myself I have to make it,” adds Rachi.Having featured in shows like Kumkum Bhagya and Durga Aur Charu, she is keen to avoid repetition. “I’ve done different genres, and I want to keep experimenting.” While she initially chased fame, her focus has shifted. “I fell in love with acting. Now I just want to explore more.”
