One fine morning in February, the world woke up to learn that a trade deal had been completed between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers. In a shock that still sends sparks from time to time, the ‘untradeable’ and ‘untouchable' Luka Doncic was forced out of the Mavs and sent to the Lakers without so much as a word.

He has thankfully managed to find his place in the team since, and has even signed a 3-year extension. And now, another NBA star, who was traded around the same time this year, has opened up about what really happened!

Jimmy Butler talks about the shocking Luka Doncic trade

Jimmy Butler was moved from the Miami Heat to the Golden State Warriors at the same time as Luka Doncic left the Dallas Mavericks for the Los Angeles Lakers. And while Butler himself wanted to move away from Miami because of tension with the management over his extension, it was the opposite for Doncic.

According to the Slovenian, he did not even have any idea that something like this was being planned behind his back. While both players are in a good place right now, those few days were extremely tense, especially for the latter.

And now Butler has decided to share his thoughts about his fellow league players' situation, which shook the whole of the NBA.

According to Butler, the whole situation was crazy and he "was baffled by it." In fact, so many months in, it still "doesn’t look right" to him that Doncic was traded just like that. When asked if there was more to it than what meets the eye, the GSW star said:“Everybody’s going to latch onto whatever narrative they want to believe and whatever clickbait is put out there. But there’s always more to these stories. I don’t know, I don’t know, but I can guarantee you there is more, and there’s always a reason behind everything. Do I know the reason?
