3-Ingredient High-Protein Chocolate And Mango Clusters
Ingredients:
- 1 Alphonso mango
- 1 cup high-protein Greek yoghurt
- 100g melted dark chocolate (you can use more or less as preferred)
Method:
- Prep the mango: Wash and peel the Alphonso mango.
- Cut the flesh into small, bite‑sized cubes or thin wedges, avoiding the large, hard seed in the centre.
- Pat the mango pieces very gently with a paper towel to remove excess moisture so the yoghurt layer sticks better.
- Coat the mango with yoghurt: Pour 1 cup Greek yoghurt into a shallow bowl or plate.
- One by one, dip each mango piece into the yoghurt, using a spoon or spooning and spreading the yoghurt so it fully coats the fruit.
- Place the yoghurt‑coated mango pieces on a parchment‑lined tray or plate.
- Once all pieces are coated, refrigerate the tray for about 20–30 minutes so the yoghurt firms up and sticks better to the mango. This step helps the chocolate coating adhere cleanly.
- Melt the dark chocolate: Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and place them in a heatproof bowl.
- Set the bowl over a small pot with a few inches of simmering water (a double boiler), making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water.
- Stir gently until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly for a minute so it is not too runny, but still pourable.
- Dip and form the clusters: Take one yoghurt‑coated mango piece at a time and dip it into the melted dark chocolate, or use a spoon to drizzle and coat it from multiple sides.
- Place the chocolate‑coated piece back onto the parchment‑lined tray.
- Repeat until all mango pieces are coated.
- If you like a thicker shell, let the first layer set briefly in the fridge (5–10 minutes), then dip once more in chocolate for a second layer.
- Set and serve: Once all clusters are coated, place the tray in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set and firm.
- Remove and let them sit at room temperature for a minute or two if they feel too cold or hard.
- Serve 1–2 clusters as a high‑protein dessert, post‑workout snack, or mid‑day treat.
- These clusters are best enjoyed within 1–2 days, stored in the fridge. The creamy yoghurt, sweet mango, and dark chocolate come together in a way that feels indulgent while still packing a satisfying protein punch.
