It is not every day that a roadside sugarcane juice stall becomes the center of a business discussion. But that is exactly what has happened after a LinkedIn post highlighted the pricing board of one such vendor.
What looked like a regular rate card soon had people talking about customer behaviour, pricing, and the kind of business decisions that are often made through experience rather than textbooks. The post has started conversations online about how many small vendors quietly apply practical business thinking in their day-to-day work. Without using complicated ideas or management terms, they often make choices based on what works for both the customer and the business.
Entrepreneur shares vendor's pricing strategy
The post was shared on LinkedIn by Ananya Narang, an entrepreneur. Along with a picture of the sugarcane juice stall's pricing board, she wrote that the vendor had “cracked unit economics better than most founders.”

The board displayed three pricing options:Price of sugarcane juice.Without ice Rs 30.With ice Rs 25.Half glass Rs 20.The pricing immediately caught the attention of users, who began discussing the thinking behind the different rates.
Many users felt the vendor's pricing was a practical way of serving different customer preferences while also managing costs. By keeping separate prices for juice with ice, without ice, and for a half glass, the vendor offered more than one option to customers. The LinkedIn post also pointed out that many small businesses arrive at such pricing decisions through everyday experience, customer demand, and practical understanding instead of formal business education.
What social media users said
The post received mixed reactions from social media users. One user commented, “He is honest. You can't complain about ice; he is reducing the rate.”Another user wrote, “Small businesses understand customers.”A third added, “We need MBA lessons from him.”Disclaimer: This report is based on a social media post and public reactions.
