TIRUPATI: Thousands of women including students took part in the Stree-Shakti success meet held at Kovur in Nellore district on Monday. The TDP led NDA govt launched the Stree-Shakti initiative on Aug 15, extending free travel option for women in five categories of APSRTC buses across the state.
About 2.64 cr women in the state stand to benefit from the free bus travel scheme.Addressing a mammoth gathering of women, Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy asserted that the NDA govt in the state under the visionary leadership of Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, was fulfilling every single poll promise extended to the people of the state despite several challenges. “All the super six promises made by the NDA alliance are now being fulfilled one after the other.
The implementation of the super six initiatives and other welfare schemes reiterate the commitment of the govt to transforming and uplifting the lives of the people living below the poverty lines”, Nellore MP added.Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy underlined that the TDP govt was bearing a financial burden of Rs.2000 cr annually and asserted that the govt was happy to overcome the financial challenges for this novel initiative, which aims to enhance mobility and reduce travel costs to zero for millions of women, contributing to their independence and economic empowerment.
Stating that the false propaganda unleashed by the YSRCP over the Stree-Shakti scheme implementation had fallen flat owing to the enormous success of the initiative since it’s launch, Prashanti Reddy told the gathering of women that the state govt will soon launch Palle Velugu AC buses for the benefit and convenience of the women folk living in the rural pockets of the state.
