The Adilabad district police have arrested three persons from Islampur village in Ichoda madal on charges of supplying fake Aadhaar and residence certificates to nine persons from North India for securing jobs in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) under the State quota.
Disclosing this at a press conference in Ichoda on Sunday, Utnoor Assistant Superintendent of Police Kajal Singh said the fake certificate scam came to the fore during the process of police verification of certificates.
An in-depth investigation into the case revealed that three people of Islampur provided fake Aadhaar, SSC marks memos and residence certificates to nine persons from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan for ₹ 9 lakhs. The three accused, identified as Shaik Kaleem, 34, Shaik Fareed, 59, and Jadhav Gajanand, 35, from Islampur of Adilabad district were arrested by the Ichoda police on Saturday and produced before the local court. The nine accused from other States used the fake certificates to get jobs in the CAPFs under the Telangana quota, she said.
A case has been registered under Sections 318 (4), 335, 338, 340 (2), 308 (2) and 238 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
