The K.R. Puram police arrested three individuals in relation to a burglary case, recovering stolen gold and silver items as well as cash worth approximately ₹40 lakh.

According to the police, a resident of Anandapura had filed a complaint at the K.R. Puram Police Station on February 20. The complainant stated that he had travelled to Pune on February 18 for a relative’s wedding, while his wife and children remained at home.

The police said that on February 20, the complainant’s wife and children had gone to a nearby shop at T.C. Palya. Upon returning home later in the day, they found the front door open and discovered that gold ornaments, silver articles, and cash totalling ₹4.9 lakh had been stolen.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a burglary case and launched an investigation. During the probe, officers gathered technical and local intelligence and detained two suspects from Rajasthan on March 3, 2026.

During the interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to committing the theft along with another associate. The two accused were later brought to Bengaluru on a transit warrant and produced before the court on March 6, following which they were taken into 25 days of police custody.

Further investigation revealed that the stolen gold and silver articles had been kept at another associate's residence in Bellandur. Based on information provided by the accused, police apprehended another suspect from Uttar Pradesh on March 11 and brought him to Bengaluru on a transit warrant.

The police said the accused confessed to their involvement in the offence. The third accused was produced before the court on March 14 and remanded to 15 days of police custody.

Between March 15 and April 11, the police recovered 196 grams of gold ornaments, 1 kg and 756 grams of silver articles, and ₹22,000 in cash from the accused and their associates. The recovered property is estimated to be worth around ₹40 lakh.

The police identified the prime accused as Uttam Singh, who allegedly conducted reconnaissance across the city to identify houses and later roped in associates from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan to execute the thefts.

The police said Uttam Singh is currently absconding and efforts are under way to trace and arrest him. All three accused were produced before the court on March 28 and remanded to judicial custody.
