Indore: Three persons were arrested in connection with theft of Rs 40 lakh from a local businessman’s office in Ratlam. The police also seized a scooter and a delivery service uniform used during the crime.The incident occurred on June 29, 2026, at the office of businessman Manish Patwa in the Shahar Sarai area. Patwa registered a complaint on June 30, explaining that a business associate and liquor contractor, Gaurav Sharma, had sent Rs 40 lakh via an employee to be stored safely due to consecutive bank holidays.During the initial investigation, statement of employee, 22-year-old Fardeen Khan raised suspicion.Khan had stated that an unidentified man wearing a delivery uniform entered the office corridor, seized the cash bag and fled on a scooter with an accomplice waiting outside.
Subsequent examination of CCTV footage and sustained interrogation led Khan to confess that he had orchestrated the theft with his brother and a friend to clear personal debts.Following Khan’s arrest, police seized the stolen Rs 40 lakh. The remaining two accomplices, Khan’s brother Faiz and Asbab, were arrested at Mhow-Neemach bus stand following a tip-off. Investigation revealed that Asbab, a former employee of a delivery service, utilised his old operational uniform to avoid suspicion during the getaway.
