In a tragic incident on the Kota-Shivpuri National Highway 27, a car collided with a broken-down pick-up vehicle, resulting in the death of four individuals. The victims, identified as Naman Kumar Chaturvedi, Jaya Sharma, Anshika Mishra, and Rahul Prakash, hailed from Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
KOTA: Four persons, including three from Uttar Pradesh and one from Delhi, were killed after the car they were travelling in rammed from behind into a broken-down pick-up vehicle stationary at the divider side on the Kota-Shivpuri National Highway 27 under Baran city police station area in Baran district in intervening Saturday-Sunday night.The four bodies were placed in the mortuary for the post-mortem to be conducted after the arrival of their family members, who were informed of the tragedy. The deceased were identified as Naman Kumar Chaturvedi (27), Jaya Sharma (25), both residents of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, Anshika Mishra (25) from Gorakhpur (UP), and Rahul Prakash (30) from Delhi.Information on the mishap was received at around 12:45 am in the intervening Saturday-Sunday night, following which the police rushed to the spot and found the four persons, including two women, stuck in a Toyota Glanza car that had rammed from behind into a broken-down stationary pick-up on the divider side towards Shivpuri on NH-27 near Gajanpura Hadauti Panorama, Circle Inspector at Baran Sadar police station Yogesh Chouhan said on Sunday morning.The four persons were rushed to Baran district hospital, where doctors declared Naman, Anshika, and Rahul Prakash brought dead and referred critically injured Jaya Sharma after primary care to MBS hospital in Kota. However, Jaya also succumbed to injuries during treatment at Kota later in the early morning, he added.The three bodies were placed in the mortuary in Baran district hospital, while the fourth one, of Jaya, was placed in the mortuary at MBS hospital. Rahul’s family could not be contacted; meanwhile, families of the other three are on the way, and after their arrival, the post-mortem will be conducted, the police officer said.The car most likely hit the stationary pick-up in an attempt to avert pits and holes on the highway, the police said.
