Russian strikes killed two people and wounded eight others in Ukraine, local authorities said Thursday, while Russia announced that one person had been killed in a Ukrainian attack. In Russia's southwestern Samara region, a Ukrainian strike killed one person, the regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorischev said on Telegram Thursday.
KYIV: Russian strikes killed two people and wounded eight others in Ukraine, local authorities said Thursday, while Russia announced that one person had been killed in a Ukrainian attack.Moscow has fired hundreds of drones on its neighbour almost nightly since the beginning of the four-year war, with Kyiv regularly carrying out strikes within Russia in response to its attacks."Two people have been killed and eight injured... One person is still unaccounted for," Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the regional administration of Dnipro said on Telegram.Of those wounded, two children aged nine and 14 were taken to hospital, Ganzha said in an earlier post.He said that an apartment building, a shop and a car had been hit in the attack on Dnipro.In Russia's southwestern Samara region, a Ukrainian strike killed one person, the regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorischev said on Telegram Thursday.Debris from the strike landed on the roof of a block of apartments in Samara and onto the street, wounding one person who was taken to a hospital, Fedorischev said.Russia's defence ministry, meanwhile, said it intercepted 154 Ukrainian drones.
Russia's invasion of Ukraine, launched in February 2022, has killed hundreds of thousands of people and displaced millions, marking the deadliest conflict in Europe since World War II.Negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow under US mediation have been at a standstill since the start of the war in the Middle East, which has diverted Washington's attention.
