In the Ketan Agrawal murder case, accused Siya Goyal’s parents say Ketan was like a son and demand the strictest punishment for whoever is guilty, even their own daughter.

Her parents mentioned that both families shared a warm relationship.

Her parents mentioned that both families shared a warm relationship.

“Push down the accused from the fort where Ketan fell, even if it’s my daughter," this is what Pravin Goyal, the father of Siya Goyal told the media while speaking about the tragic accident.

“What happened is a very tragic event. We still can’t believe it. They’ve lost their son, and their son was ours too," he told ANI.

The family of Siya also believe that the accused should be given the harshest punishment.

“Let the strictest possible punishment be given to the murderer. From the fort where Ketan fell, the accused, even if it is my own daughter, should be pushed down," the father said.

Her mother also said that whoever is in fault, should be given the harshest punishment.

“If my daughter is found guilty, then she should be thrown from the same place where Ketan was thrown," she added.

‘We Lost a Son Too’

As the investigation into Pune businessman Ketan Agrawal’s murder continues, the parents of accused Siya Goyal have publicly demanded the strictest possible punishment for whoever is found responsible, even if it implicates their own daughter.

Pravin Goyal said Ketan had become like a son to their family and his death had left them devastated.

“I had grown so attached to him that it felt like he was our own son. We lost such a loving, promising and good boy. There is nothing more tragic than this. We had so many dreams for the future," he said, adding that the wedding was scheduled to take place in Udaipur.

The grieving father maintained that his daughter had never shown any unhappiness over the marriage arrangement.

“Siya never expressed her displeasure about the wedding. Ever since the match was finalised, she was always happy and often spoke about Ketan. If his family had informed us that something was going wrong, we would have spoken to her," he said.

‘Siya Never Objected To The Marriage’

Siya’s mother, Pooja Goyal, echoed similar sentiments and said the family had no knowledge of any relationship involving Chetan, another accused in the case.

“Ever since the engagement, she only spoke to Ketan. We did not know anything about Chetan," she said.

Pooja Goyal said both families shared a warm relationship and had made elaborate preparations for the wedding.

“Ketan’s family treated Siya with affection and love. They had organised several programmes for her birthday. For the wedding, Ananta Resort in Udaipur had been booked. They planned to spend around Rs 5 crore, while the venue booking itself cost nearly Rs 3 crore," she said.

She, however, insisted that if the investigation establishes her daughter’s involvement in the crime, she should face the toughest punishment under the law.

“I don’t believe that she agreed to commit the crime, but if the investigation reveals she is guilty, then give her the harshest punishment," she said.

Investigation Underway

Pravin Goyal said the family was unaware of any past relationships involving Siya and described her as a simple 19-year-old girl.

“We did not have any prior knowledge about Siya’s love affairs. I don’t know anything about Chetan. I have never seen his face or spoken to him. He has never been to our house," he said.

Calling Ketan’s family “good and cultured people", he said the investigation should be allowed to proceed and that whoever is found guilty must be punished.

“There will be an investigation. Let the investigation take place. Whatever result comes out, action should be taken accordingly and the guilty person should be punished," he added.
