Tiger Woods has finally spoken about the question every golf fan is asking right now, will he play at the 2026 Masters? The honest answer is still unclear. He has not confirmed his return, but he has not ruled it out either.
Speaking at the TGL Season 2 press conference, Woods gave a real update about where his body stands just weeks before Augusta.Right now, everything depends on how his recovery goes day by day. Woods is still dealing with the after-effects of major surgeries, and that uncertainty is making his comeback difficult. With the Masters set to begin on April 9, time is running short, but the door is not completely closed yet.
Tiger Woods shares honest update on Masters Chances and ongoing injury struggles
Tiger Woods did not try to hide anything when asked about his condition. He made it very clear that recovery has not been smooth.“Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days,” Woods said. “Disc replacement is not a lot of fun. I have good days when I can pretty much do anything and other days when it’s hard to just move around.”He also admitted that healing is slower now. “The body doesn’t quite heal like it was when I was 24,” he said.
Woods had disc replacement surgery on October 10, 2025. That came just months after he went through surgery to fix a ruptured left Achilles tendon. Two major injuries in one year have clearly taken a toll on him.Still, if he makes it to Augusta, it will not just be about showing up. Woods already holds the record for 24 straight cuts made at the Masters. Another appearance would push that record even further. There is also a bigger possibility—he could become the oldest Masters winner, breaking Jack Nicklaus’ long-standing record from 1986.Even at 50, Woods has a chance to do something no one has done before. His last competitive round came at the 2024 PNC Championship, where he played with his son Charlie. His last PGA Tour start was the 2024 British Open.Away from competition, Woods has stayed active with TGL. He has attended matches regularly, even though he has not been able to play. He said, “I have been trying to play each and every one of these matches.
I’ve been trying to come back. But it just hasn’t worked out that way. I’ve had a bad run of injuries last year.”At the same time, he has helped improve the league. According to Woods at the TGL presser, fan feedback led to better audio, clearer gameplay, and more creative course designs in Season 2.With the Masters and PGA Championship coming up, the next few weeks will decide if Tiger Woods can return to the course or if fans will have to wait longer.
