The State government has successfully steered KSRTC toward profitability through timely reforms and modernization efforts, Finance Minister K. N. Balagopal said here on Sunday.
He was inaugurating the new circular mini bus service operating between the ETC Anganwadi Junction and Kottarakkara.
He added that the expansion of infrastructure is fundamentally linked to the improvement of public transportation.
“The government’s strategic initiatives to increase revenue and enhance passenger facilities have proven effective. The new bus service is specifically designed to provide better connectivity to emerging institutions centered around the ETC Junction and its surrounding areas, catering to the growing needs of the local community,” he said. The newly launched service is scheduled to operate morning and evening trips, covering key locations including ETC Junction, Thottamukku, Navodaya, Kottarakkara railway station, and the Kottarakkara bus stand.
This circular route aims to bridge the gap in local transit for commuters and students alike. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by municipal chairperson Anitha Gopakumar. Standing committee chairpersons Saroja Karthikeyan and Rajitha R, along with various municipal councillors, political party leaders, and KSRTC employees were present on the occasion.
