The temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala scripted history in June, recording its highest-ever monthly pilgrim footfalls, with more than 25 lakh devotees visiting the hill shrine during the 30-day period.
The temple witnessed an average daily footfall of nearly 84,000 pilgrims during the month, surpassing the exceptionally high turnout in May, when the temple registered a daily average turnout of around 82,000 devotees.
The surge in pilgrim inflow was mirrored in the offerings made at the temple with the temple ‘hundi’ registering a staggering collection of ₹126 crore during June, setting yet another significant milestone.
The temple also recorded another landmark achievement in the distribution of its famed laddu prasadam. More than 1.19 crore laddus were sold during the month.
