TMC(M) will play an important role to unite like-minded parties to unseat DMK from power in 2026: Vasan

Tamil Maanila Congress (Moopanar) president G.K. Vasan on Tuesday said his party will play a key role in uniting like minded parties in the opposition to unseat the DMK from power in 2026.

Speaking at a public meeting in Chennai on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, Mr. Vasan said beyond electoral victories and defeats, his party’s journey continued for years.

He said “The TMC(M) will uphold coalition dharma and work actively to unite like-minded parties in the opposition to unseat anti-people DMK from power in the 2026 elections.”

He also criticised the DMK government for deteriorating law and order and stressed the need for cooperation between Union and State governments for development of Tamil Nadu. Mr. Vasan also hailed AIADMK general secretary Edappadi.K. Palaniswami’s ongoing Statewide tour as a great success.

Kamarajar Makkal Katchi founder Tamilaruvi Manian said every person in Tamil Nadu is grateful to Kamaraj and his contributions. At a time when politicians are chasing their dreams to occupy the Chief Minister’s chair, Kamaraj voluntarily gave up the top position he held for nine years, he added.
