Tamil Nadu Industries Minister T.R.B. Rajaa launched TNExpat, a new digital platform designed to help expatriates and international visitors explore life in Tamil Nadu.

The platform provides insights into living and working experiences, culture, and lifestyle, helping the global audience better understand and experience the State. The website is currently available in five languages, making it accessible to a wider international community. Alongside the platform, Guidance Tamil Nadu, the nodal agency instrumental in bringing investments into the State, is setting up a dedicated ‘Expat Desk’ to provide support for expatriates.

“When expats move to any city, they face a number of challenges. We are looking to address them through these initiatives that will make them feel more at home. Tamil Nadu has great infrastructure, healthcare, and educational facilities. We are also looking to sharpen our focus on ease of living as a key metric to further improve the quality of life of expats because we see this as an important investor pitch now,” Paul Arun, Senior Vice-President, Guidance Tamil Nadu said.

“Last year, we organised a golf tournament where over 225 expat CEOs, CXOs, and senior leaders participated. It was a day of sport, networking, and camaraderie and was part of our effort to showcase Chennai’s vibrant social and business ecosystem, where global talent can thrive both professionally and personally. We are also panning a diplomatic pickle ball league shortly,” he added.

Tamil Nadu is home to over 130 global fortune 500 companies. Firms from Germany, Denmark, the United States, Japan, France, and Korea have made major investment in the State. Tamil Nadu has over 5,000 Koreans — the biggest expat community in the State. Over 300 Korean companies are operating in Tamil Nadu.
