To avoid traffic congestion, Gurgaon administration announces WFH advisory due to heavy rain; IMD issues orange alert

GURGAON: The district administration on Thursday issued an advisory to corporate offices and private institutions to work from home due to heavy rain. The employees of the corporate offices were advised to work from home to avoid congestion and traffic on the roads.

Due to 133 mm of heavy rainfall in the last 12 hours, including 103 mm in just 90 minutes, Gurgaon is on Orange Alert by IMD.In the last 12 hours (7 PM on July 9 to 7 AM on July 10), 133 mm of rainfall was recorded in Gurgaon city, including an extremely intense spell of 103 mm between 7.30pm and 9pm on July 9.

“In view of the above, all corporate offices and private institutions in the districts are advised to guide their employees to work from home on July 10 so the traffic congestion can be avoided,” said deputy commissioner of Gurgaon Ajay Kumar.All corporate offices and private institutions are advised to allow work from home on 10 July 2025 to prevent traffic congestion. “Stay safe. Follow updates from the district administration,” said deputy commissioner of Gurgaon Ajay Kumar.
