Nearly 4 kilograms of suspected Methaqualone, a synthetic drug, worth around ₹2 crore were seized from a registered baggage during screening at the domestic terminal of the Kochi airport on Tuesday.
Two packets of the contraband were reportedly found concealed in a false bottom of the registered baggage. The duty manager informed the customs authorities, and the passenger, along with the confiscated items and baggage, was handed over to the agency for further examination.
The passenger was identified as Ouro Agoro, a native of Togo. She reached Kochi from Doha and had reported to the domestic terminal to travel to Delhi by an Air India flight. She will be produced before court on Wednesday.
