Tourist bitten by snake near Cherai beach in Kerala’s Kochi; under observation in MICU

A 36-year-old tourist from Coimbatore was hospitalised after being bitten by a snake near the Cherai beach at Kochi in Kerala on Sunday (April 26, 2026).

The woman, identified as Sharmila, sustained the bite on her toe. She, along with her family, had reportedly checked in at a resort close to the beach on Friday (April 24, 2026). She was rushed to the Taluk Hospital in North Paravur where she was given emergency medical care and was later shifted to a private hospital in Chalakka for specialised care.
