Gor formally assumed charge as the 27th United States Ambassador to India on January 12. Before arriving in India, Gor served in senior roles in Washington. He previously worked as Assistant to the President and Director of Presidential Personnel at the White House, where he handled key responsibilities related to appointments and administration.

Earlier, Gor highlighted the strength of bilateral defence cooperation, referring to a 10-year defence pact signed last year, which he said will “significantly deepen" the strategic partnership between Washington and New Delhi.

“Just last year the United States and India signed a 10 year defense pact which will significantly deepen our Defense Partnership. Joint exercises will continue, additional sales are in progress.
