The official trailer for Arindam Sil's socio-political thriller 'Korpur' has been unveiled. Set in Kolkata, the film, inspired by Dipanwita Roy's novel, delves into an education scam and a mysterious disappearance spanning over two decades. Featuring a strong ensemble cast led by Rituparna Sengupta, 'Korpur' promises to blend crime, politics, and social commentary to challenge perspectives and confront layered truths.

The official trailer of Korpur was unveiled at a ceremonial event held recently at a city hotel offering the first glimpse of director Arindam Sil’s upcoming socio-political thriller.Set against the backdrop of Kolkata, the film revolves around an education scam that unfolds over more than two decades. Inspired by Dipanwita Roy’s novel Antardhaner Nepothhey, the narrative centres on a mysterious disappearance whose repercussions echo across generations, weaving together themes of power, governance and ideology.The film features a strong ensemble cast led by Rituparna Sengupta. The cast also includes Bratya Basu, Shaheb Chattopadhyay, Arindam Sil, Arpan Ghoshal, Lahoma Bhattacharya and Ananya Banerjee. Supporting roles are played by actors including Kunal Ghosh, Rumki Chatterjee, Kanad Maitra, Sanjib Sarkar, Sandip Bhattacharya, Pradipta Roy, Avishek De Biswas, Payel Roy and Tapasya Dasgupta.Speaking about the film, Arindam said the team has attempted to craft a gripping thriller set in Kolkata that spans more than two decades.

“We have done our part, and now it is for the audience to watch and appreciate the effort,” he said.Producer Firdausul Hasan described Korpur as a story that challenges perspectives. According to him, the narrative — adapted from Dipanwita Roy’s novel — raises difficult questions while balancing political insight with strong emotional undertones.Blending crime, politics and social commentary, Korpur aims to go beyond conventional thriller storytelling. The film attempts to confront layered truths about society and time, presenting a narrative that combines sharp socio-political observations with intense human emotions.
