Trailer rams car at Vyapam Square, road blocked for hours

Bhopal: Two youths were injured after a speeding trailer truck allegedly rammed their car at Vyapam Square in Habibganj in the early hours of Wednesday, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The accident disrupted traffic on the busy stretch for several hours, with congestion persisting till around noon as police and civic authorities cleared the damaged vehicles. Habibganj police have registered a case against the trailer driver for rash and negligent driving.According to police, complainant Lakshya Gaur, 22, a resident of Indrapuri and a student, was driving his car with four friends — Akash Choudhary, Animesh Yadav, Yuvraj Choudhary and Manish — around 1.30 am.

They were on their way to drop Akash at his residence in Sagar Eden Garden in Misrod after travelling from Jail Road.As the car crossed Vyapam Square and was heading towards 6 No. Market, a trailer, allegedly coming from the MP Nagar side at high speed, hit the car from behind on the left side.The impact caused the car to overturn. Lakshya Gaur and co-passenger Animesh Yadav suffered injuries, while the vehicle suffered extensive damage, including shattered windows, a crushed roof, damaged bonnet and body.

The injured were taken to JP Hospital, where they underwent medical examination.The overturned car and trailer blocked a major portion of the carriageway, leading to traffic congestion on the route. Traffic movement remained affected till around noon before the damaged vehicles were removed and normal flow restored.
