Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called for equipping young people with skills in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and space science, while also stressing the need to make farmers self-reliant through modern agricultural practices.

Chairing the general meeting of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad at the Guru Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, Yogi said educational institutions must prepare society for future challenges and align their programmes with changing technological and economic realities.

“A golden future can only be built by empowering both the youth and the farming community," the Chief Minister said.

Focus on Future-Ready Education

Addressing heads of institutions and educators associated with the Parishad, Yogi urged them to embrace technology and continuously update educational programmes to meet the demands of the modern era.

He directed the Maharana Pratap Institute of Technology and the Centre of Excellence to train students from eastern Uttar Pradesh in advanced fields such as AI, cybersecurity and space science.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of implementing the National Education Policy and ensuring that education remains employment-oriented.

“Students should not have to struggle for opportunities after graduating. Education must be linked to employability and skill development," he said.

Push for Farmer Self-Reliance

Alongside youth empowerment, Yogi emphasised the need to strengthen Krishi Vigyan Kendras and connect farmers with advanced agricultural techniques.

He instructed institutions to work with local farming communities and promote scientific farming methods that can improve productivity and incomes.

The Chief Minister said educational institutions should play a direct role in supporting the welfare and prosperity of society by aligning their activities with public needs.

Healthcare and Institutional Development

Yogi also called for the expansion of healthcare services through institutions affiliated with the Parishad and asked administrators to focus on innovation, discipline and quality improvement.

He announced that Digvijay Nath L.T. Training College would be renamed as Digvijay Nath College of Teachers Education.

According to the Chief Minister, every institution should develop a distinct identity through healthy competition, innovation and timely execution of goals.

Preparations for Centenary Year

The Chief Minister directed all institutions under the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad to begin preparations for its centenary celebrations in 2032.

Founded in 1932 by Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj, the Parishad has grown into one of eastern Uttar Pradesh’s major educational networks. Yogi asked institutional heads to prepare detailed action plans to ensure the centenary year is celebrated on a grand scale.

He said the milestone should serve as an opportunity to further strengthen educational quality, technical training, healthcare outreach and community service initiatives across the Parishad’s institutions.
