Leaders of the Andhra Pradesh unit of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh (ABRSM) on Friday demanded immediate issuance of transfer guidelines for lecturers working in government degree colleges.
Speaking at a meeting in Vijayawada, they called for expediting recruitment to vacant university faculty posts as per the existing notifications and issuing of admission notifications for government degree colleges without delay.
The association further urged the government to confine the working hours in government junior colleges between 9.30 a.m. and 4 p.m., promote eligible junior college lecturers as degree college lecturers and ensure regular implementation of the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) promotions in universities.
Immediate release of pending fee reimbursement dues to students, constitution of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC), release of four pending Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments, effective implementation of the Employee Health Scheme (EHS) and filling of nearly 3,500 vacant faculty posts in government intermediate colleges were the other demands of the Mahasangh.
The meeting reviewed issues concerning faculty members serving in government Intermediate and degree colleges, Engineering colleges, Polytechnics and universities. Following detailed deliberations, the organisation leaders submitted representations to HRD Minister Nara Lokesh and senior officials of the Higher Education Department.
