Transporter cleaning warehouse assaulted over fee in Loni, dies in hospital

Ghaziabad: A 32-year-old transporter died under mysterious circumstances in Loni, with his family alleging that his condition worsened after he was assaulted with sticks and batons over a dispute related to warehouse work payment.The deceased was identified as Sonu Singh, a resident of Loni.According to police, the incident took place on April 25. A complaint in the matter was filed by the deceased’s father at Loni police station.Singh’s father Charan alleged that his son was cleaning a warehouse at Gurjar Chowk Baag Ranap along with Parveja, Parveja and Alok when a youth from the neighbourhood, Sonu, one of the accused, arrived there with Shahrukh and some unidentified people.“An argument broke out between them and my son over the money of the warehouse against the work, following which Sonu and others, in a fit of rage, began assaulting him with sticks, resulting in injuries to my son’s back. On April 26, he passed away during treatment at GTB Hospital in Delhi,” he said.Siddharth Gautam, ACP of Loni, said the complainant’s son visited a nearby private hospital after the fight on April 25.“After treatment, he was released from the hospital and he went to his house along with family members.

On April 26, the deceased was not feeling well and his family members took him to the govt hospital in Loni, and later he was referred to GTB Hospital. In the evening, he died during treatment.The body has been sent for the autopsy. The autopsy report is awaited,” he said.He added that an FIR was registered against Sonu, Shahrukh and some unidentified persons under Sections 105 and 115(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the SC/ST Act.Teams have been formed to investigate and arrest the accused.
