Trichy regional passport office gets national award for better service delivery

Trichy: The regional passport office (RPO) in Trichy has been awarded the Passport Seva Puraskar award for displaying a better performance in passport service delivery.The award for 2025–2026 was presented by external affairs minister S Jaishankar to Trichy regional passport officer Sharanappa Talwar, during the annual regional passport officers’ conference and Passport Seva Divas celebrations held in New Delhi between June 17 and 19.Officials said the award recognizes Trichy RPO for maintaining high standards of passport services delivery to citizens. By considering multiple parameters including total number of passports issued, quick dispatch, feedback from the passport holders, and grievance redressal mechanism in place, the external affairs ministry selected Trichy RPO.Passport Seva Puraskar award has been given after scrutinizing the seamless, transparent, and hassle-free passport services provided by all RPOs across the country.Trichy RPO has bagged the award for the second time in a row. It was awarded the same for the year 2024-25.
