Taylor Swift had endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris over Trump during the 2024 US presidential election. Later, Trump said he hates Taylor Swift.

US pop icon Taylor Swift has officially married NFL star Travis Kelce in a lavish wedding ceremony in New York, attended by hundreds of celebrities.
Confirming the marriage on July 3, Swift’s longtime publicist Tree Paine said, “Taylor and Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Travis’s Best Man." The ceremony was officiated by actor Adam Sandler.
Following the ceremony, an electronic billboard outside Madison Square Garden lit up with the message, “JUST&T MARRIED," announcing the couple’s wedding to cheering fans gathered outside.
But amid the celebrations, the White House’s official X account appeared to troll the newlyweds with a series of posts aimed at the 14-time Grammy winner.
In one post, the White House shared an edited version of the Madison Square Garden billboard, replacing the wedding message with “Trump Is Still Your President" and captioning it, “It happened."
In another apparent dig at Swift, the White House referenced her record-breaking Eras Tour by posting an image of President Donald Trump carrying the words “America’s Eras Tour," accompanied by the caption, “It’s been a long time coming".
The online jibes come against the backdrop of a years-long political feud between Trump and Swift.
Before the singer became politically active, Trump often praised her publicly. In 2012, he described Swift as “terrific" on social media and complimented her role as co-host of the Grammy nominations special.
Swift ended her long-standing political silence during the 2018 midterm elections by endorsing Democrat Phil Bredesen over Republican Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee’s Senate race.
Asked about the endorsement, Trump responded, “I’m sure Taylor Swift knows nothing, and doesn’t know anything about Marsha Blackburn… Let’s say I like Taylor’s music about 25 percent less now."
In interviews for Ramin Setoodeh’s 2024 book “Apprentice in Wonderland," Trump repeatedly praised Swift’s appearance while questioning her political views.
“I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! I find her very beautiful… I hear she’s very talented," Trump said, before adding, “She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal."
The relationship deteriorated further during the 2024 presidential election after Swift endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris over Trump. Responding on Truth Social, Trump argued Swift should not back Joe Biden or the Democrats because he had signed the Music Modernization Act in 2018, which improved royalty payments for artists from streaming platforms.
“There is no way Taylor Swift can endorse Crooked Joe Biden and be disloyal to the man who made her so much money," Trump wrote at the time. Following Swift’s endorsement of Harris, Trump later posted, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!" on Truth Social, intensifying their public feud.
