Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which has launched many pilgrim friendly initiatives in the recent times, has now added tasty vadas to the free meal dinner menu of the devotees visiting Tirumala.TTD chairman BR Naidu who formally launched the initiative at Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam complex at Tirumala on Sunday, personally served freshly cooked vadas to the devotees.Speaking to reporters later, BR Naidu stated that following the instructions of Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the quality of free meals being served to the devotees visiting Tirumala has been improved upon significantly in the last one year.“The newly constituted trust board had brought in significant changes to the free food menu and several new items were added to the old menu. While vadas were added to the menu recently, they were being served to the pilgrims only during the lunch hours.
And following requests from the pilgrims, we have now added vada to the dinner menu as well”, BR Naidu added.In a bid to further streamline and automate Annaprasadam cooking and distribution activities, TTD had recently entered into an MoU with the TVS group. “More than one lakh pilgrims consume free meals at the TTD’s Nithya Annaprasadam complex at Tirumala every single day. This canteen almost functions round the clock and serves top quality breakfast, lunch and dinner for the visiting devotees free of cost”, TTD chairman added.
