The sudden influx of pilgrims is attributed to the overlapping of the weekend with the final leg of the school summer vacation season.
Tirupati:In response to an unprecedented surge in pilgrim footfall, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced the cancellation of VIP Break Darshans and online current booking for SRIVANI tickets scheduled for Monday. The decision aims to prioritize regular devotees and ensure smoother crowd management across the hill shrine. The sudden influx of pilgrims is attributed to the overlapping of the weekend with the final leg of the school summer vacation season.According to TTD officials, the situation on the ground remains highly saturated. All compartments inside the Vaikuntam Queue Complex are completely packed to capacity, and the physical lines outside have extended deep into the Balaji Nagar residential area.TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary inspected the queues and crowd scenario at Tirumala on Saturday. He said the Tirupati trust was trying its best to facilitate Darshan for close to 90,000 devotees a day and to speed up the queue lines to facilitate Darshan to more number of common devotees.TTD senior officials have been deployed to the field to personally monitor supply lines, water distribution, and essential amenities to mitigate hardships for waiting pilgrims.
As a direct consequence of the VIP break darshan cancellation for Monday, the temple administration clarified that no recommendation or referral letters for privileged entry will be accepted on Sunday.Furthermore, the daily quota of eight hundred Srivani darshan tickets usually released under the online current booking window stands suspended for the day. TTD has urged devotees to take note of these emergency changes and adjust their Tirumala travel and pilgrimage itineraries accordingly.
