Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is gearing up for the grand conduct of twin Brahmotsavams of Lord Malayappa Swamy this year.Accompanied by JEO A Sharath and CVSO KV Murali Krishna, TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary held this year’s maiden review meeting with senior Devasthanams officials to elaborately discuss the arrangements to be made for the grand spectacle.In anticipation of a massive influx of devotees for this year’s rare twin Brahmotsavams—celebrated due to the occurrence of the Adhika Masa (intercalary month), all departmental heads were directed to finalise comprehensive action plans and ensure all arrangements are completed well ahead of schedule.Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams are scheduled to begin with the Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam temple cleansing ritual on Sep 8, followed by Ankurarpanam on Sep 14.The official commencement will be marked by Dwajarohanam on Sep 15. The highly anticipated Garuda Vahanam is set for Sep 19, followed by the majestic Rathotsavam (chariot festival) on Sep 22, and concluding with the holy Chakrasnanam immersion on Sep 23. To accommodate devotees, the daily Vahana Sevas (divine vehicle processions) will take place in two slots, running from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
To prioritise common pilgrims during the festival period, the TTD management has announced strict changes to darshan privileges. All categories of VIP break darshans have been cancelled, with an exclusive exception made for protocol dignitaries. Furthermore, special darshan privileges for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents with infants, non-resident Indians (NRIs), and donors will remain temporarily suspended throughout the Brahmotsavams.Recognising the immense logistical challenge, the TTD administration has put forth extensive guidelines across all service sectors. The vigilance and police departments have been tasked with enforcing stringent security measures, laying out clear route maps, and establishing adequate parking zones to regulate traffic.Engineering works are ordered to be fast-tracked to meet the immediate needs of the devotees, while additional sanitation staff will be deployed to maintain round-the-clock cleanliness at public utilities.The engineering and garden departments will also oversee vibrant electrical illuminations along with intricate fruit and floral decorations across all venues.
