On Sunday, July 31, 2025, Tulsidas Jayanti will be observed across India. This day is going to be celebrated to commemorate the 528th birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas, one of the most venerated poet-saints in Hinduism.

Sant Tulsidas is believed to have been born on Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravana.

One of the most auspicious days is Tulsidas Jayanti, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Goswami Tulsidas Ji, the author of the Ramcharitmanas, the holiest and most revered text in Hinduism. This time, Tulsidas Ji's 528th birthday will be commemorated nationwide.

Atma Ram and Hulasi Devi were the parents of Tulsidas ji. He was raised by his maid after his parents abandoned him; nevertheless, he became an orphan when his maid passed away, when he was only five years old.

After that, Narharidas adopted him, and the two of them moved to Ayodhya. He was given the Ram Mantra and the new name Tulsidas by Narharidas. Tulsidas is most known for his devotion to Lord Rama and his epic retelling of the Ramayana in the form of the Ramcharitmanas.

Tulsidas Jayanti is a day of tremendous spiritual significance, particularly for followers of Lord Rama. The Ramcharitmanas, which were written in the Awadhi dialect of Hindi, made the lessons and tales of the Ramayana understandable to the general public while advancing the ideals of moral behavior, dedication, and righteousness.

Tulsidas Jayanti is observed with a great reverence and devotion. On this auspicious day, the Hindu book "Ramcharitmanas," along with other shlokas and bhajans, is performed.

Tulsidas Ji's followers donate money and feed Brahmins and the poor on this auspicious day. The Ramayana Path, where people congregate to worship Lord Rama and Hanuman, is another popular ritual. Later on, prasad is distributed to each devotee following the prayers.

Additionally, people worship Lord Hanuman and Lord Shri Ram on this sacred day. It is rewarding to feed Brahmins and give them clothes on this holy day.
