Two arrested for snatching mobile phones

Times News NetworkIndore: Two men were arrested for carrying out a series of mobile phone snatchings across four police station limits in the city.The men allegedly targeted more than four victims, mostly women, before fleeing with their mobile phones.

The accused have been identified as 24-year-old Sunny Singh Tuteja, a native of Satwas in Dewas currently residing in Mayur Nagar, Musakhedi, and 20-year-old Ajay Bankhede, a native of Gopalpura village in Khargone who also lives in Mayur Nagar, Musakhedi.Police said the duo carried out the snatching incidents in Kanadia, Lasudia, Azad Nagar and another police station area around five days ago. In the Kanadia case, complainant Shivangi Sen was waiting for an auto rickshaw near Chhota Rajwada when two men riding a scooter snatched her mobile phone and sped away.

A case was registered.During investigation, police examined CCTV footage from the crime scene and nearby areas, analysed technical evidence, and eventually traced the suspects with the help of informer inputs. During questioning, both accused allegedly confessed to the crimes.Police said the accused committed the offences to fund their expensive lifestyle. Investigators recovered five stolen mobile phones and the two-wheeler used in the crimes.
