New Delhi: Two days after a water supplier was shot dead inside his shop in northeast Delhi’s Dayalpur, police have arrested two men allegedly involved in the killing.The accused, Ayan (21) of Chand Bagh and Imran (20) of Khajuri Khas, were identified using CCTV footage from the area, police said.The victim, Rashid, was inside his shop when the assailants allegedly opened fire. He suffered critical injuries and was taken to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.Police said information about the incident was received at Dayalpur police station around 6.10 pm, following which a team rushed to the spot and began an investigation. Residents claimed nearly 15 rounds were fired, triggering panic in the neighbourhood.During the probe, Ayan and Imran were tracked down and arrested. A scooter allegedly used in the crime was recovered from them and was found to have been stolen from the Noor-e-Elahi area, police added.During interrogation, the accused told police the murder was driven by an old enmity.In a separate incident, a 26-year-old bus helper was allegedly stabbed to death during an attempted robbery in northeast Delhi’s Shastri Park early Monday.
One accused has been arrested.The victim, Musraf, worked on a tourist bus operating between Delhi and Jaipur.Police received information from Sushrut Trauma Centre and found bloodstains at Yudhishthir Setu on GT Road, between Shastri Park and Kashmere Gate. A case was registered.The accused, Anwar (19) of Shastri Park, was later arrested. He allegedly told police that he and an associate had attempted to rob Musraf and stabbed him during the incident before fleeing. Efforts are on to apprehend the absconding co-accused.
