Khargone: The body of a man who was swept away while crossing a flooded culvert in the Jhirnia police station area of Khargone district was found on Monday. Apart from this, the body of a teenager from Maharashtra who went into deep water at Maheshwar Ghat was also recovered.Jhirnia police station in-charge GS Semliya said that the body of Kalu Pehlwan, who was swept away from the bridge of the Ruparel river on Saturday, was found by the SDERF and police team. His body was recovered at Nanakhedi, 8 km away from the bridge. He said that twice people pulled him out of the bridge of the flooded river, but he did not listen and was swept away while crossing.Similarly, the body of 15-year-old Manoj Wadile, a resident of Dhadgaon in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra, was also recovered on Monday.
SDOP of Mandleshwar Shweta Shukla said that Manoj came to Maheshwar with some of his friends on Sunday. Many people restricted them from going to Kashi Vishwanath Ghat, but despite this, they started bathing in the Narmada river and went into deep water. Another friend of his, Pratik, who was drowning with him, was saved by a local diver.On Monday, life in the Bhagwanpura area of Khargone district was badly affected due to rain, and floodwater entered most of the houses in Peepal Jhopa village. Apart from this, the river Kunda also got flooded. The Bhagwanpura area received 72 mm of rain during the last 24 hours.All the four cars which were swept away on Saturday in the flood of the Rupa river in Rajpur town of Barwani district have been found, said officials.
