Two BRTS buses collide in corridor, drivers injured in Ahmedabad

Two men were injured when two BRTS buses they were driving collided inside the dedicated transport corridor in Memnagar on Tuesday. The accident took place at 12.45pm behind the Memnagar station, towards Valinath Chowk.

Despite the swing gates being fully operational, the two buses crashed head-on. “The drivers were shifted to a medical facility and the control room was notified,” stated the civic body’s accident report. Paramedic units were dispatched to the accident site to provide first aid to the passengers who received minor injuries.AMC deploys traffic marshals for monsoon safetyThe AMC will deploy traffic marshals to prevent monsoon road hazards around ongoing infrastructure projects. Four trained marshals have already been stationed at the busy Panchvati and Panjrapol stretches to guide commuters through diversions and sudden blockades. “Marshals at roadworks sites and accident-prone areas will provide advance warning and guidance to drivers,” the civic body stated. The administration plans to scale up the initiative, prioritising high-risk neighbourhoods where street repairs pose danger to the public.
