Two children die in mother’s suicide pact in Bachupally

A woman who allegedly jumped into a sump, along with her two children, following a domestic dispute, was rescued by locals at Bachupally in the early hours of Tuesday. The children did not survive.

The woman, identified as Vadde Ratnamma, 30, survived after her neighbours and a watchman pulled her out, but her sons Arun, 3, and Subash, 8 months, could not be saved.

Police said that Ratnamma, who has four children, was allegedly upset with the family disputes and disagreements with her husband, who had delayed undergoing a vasectomy despite their repeated discussions. Her elder sons, Jagan, 9, and Pavan, 8, currently live with their grandparents in Kamareddy.

A case was booked and investigation is on.
